As per a report of a news daily , due to a VAT hike on Petrol and Diesel prices in Punjab , the prices of Petrol and Diesel might see a higher impact by July. Provided that due to increase in 10 percent VAT , the price of Petrol and Diesel in Punjab will rise by 92 paise per litre and diesel 88 paise per litre.
With the change in VAT, the price from current price will move upto Rs 98 and for diesel , it will be around Rs 89.3 per litre approx. The pump dealer association in Punjab are seeing this VAT hike to increase the cost of daily use items further where compared to other states like the price of Petrol might be higher .
Petrol and Diesel Current Prices
The Petrol and Diesel prices in Punjab and the neighboring states were settled at Rs 96.2 , in Chandigarh Rs 96.29 per litre , 97 per litre in Haryana and about 97.9 in Jammu . With hike in Vat , the petrol and diesel prices will raise by Rs 1.9 to Rs 2.3 in every state .
Those bringing fuel from Jammu and Himachal will find a good situation to earn by bringing fuel supply from these states as these will be least affected with the VAT increase in Punjab .

The Dealer pump association concluded , that this petrol price hike in Punjab would let to a increase of Petrol price by Rs 10 in the coming quarters and will impact diesel prices by Rs 5 per litre if VAT is take to more hike from current proposition .
